Despite the many Asian markets in my neighborhood, I cannot find daikon seeds.
Although I barely passed high school biology, I have turned one corner of the kitchen into root central.
Two weeks ago, I cut off the tops of two daikon radishes and placed them in a shallow dish of water.
What could it hurt?
The tops' leaves grew thicker, longer and stayed a healthy green.
No roots appeared at the bottom, but they have been in the ground for four days now and are thriving..
Luther Burbank and Carl Linnaeus would be so proud.
